SEATTLE -- According to Real Simple magazine, Seattle is the most convenient, time-saving city in the country.

The latest issue of the publication says the top five "time-saving" cities are Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Boston and Minneapolis.

The magazine used five different categories in the survey: getting around, health & safety, information & technology, "green" time savers and lifestyle.

Of the five different categories, Seattle scores highest on the "green" time savers because of the number of farmers' markets and how bicycle-friendly Seattle is.

Seattle's 22.5 overall score edged out number two, Portland, which scored a 21.5. San Francisco scored a 21, Boston 20 and Minneapolis 19.5

The problem with seattle area bicyclists is that most of them are narcissists and ride in the center of the lane - and then expect car drivers to want to "share" the roads with them. "Share" to a seattle area bicyclist seems to mean "I'll ride in the center and to hell with you" ---------------------- mzalbo22 - the problem with seatle is narcissists like you - seattle traffic is among the worst and it is only bad because of the narcissists who drive in the left lanes / HOV lanes and go 20 MPH less than the speed limit, even when there is no traffic in front of them, because they feel so entitled.

First, we do not have the worst traffic in the Nation. And second, if you hate it so much - move.

Brilliant. Can anyone come up with a more obscure category? A 'time-Saving' city?! I take it that Seattle has failed, and rightly so, at being number one in any sensical category that has any meaning.

I'm surprised Seattle got points for being Bicycle friendly. It's not bad, but it's not great, and Bellevue and Redmond are terrible. Having lived in Davis, California, I know what bicycle friendly really is. We've come a long ways, but we really need to do a lot more to make commuting by bicycle safe and practical.

Believe me, if one had a choice, one would plow over every bicyclist that rides in the middle of car traffic.
