SEATTLE – Two Seattle Police cars were rammed by a suspected car thief early Saturday morning.
Police say at about 4:30 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to a report of a car prowl in progress in the 12300 Block of 33rd Avenue NE.
As officers were arriving in the area, they saw a suspicious vehicle leaving the area. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the car, descibed as a dark colored Cadillac Deville 4 door, struck the patrol car and refused to stop.
A second officer arriving at the scene was also hit by the suspect's car. The driver then took off south on Lake City Way and entered I-5 south. Police then called off the pursuit.
The police cars were driveable.
Police say they have enough information on the suspect vehicle to follow up the investigation.
