The University of Arkansas contacted Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll in an effort to replace their recently fired coach Bobby Petrino, reports KFSM/KXNW TV in Fayette, Arkansas.

Coach Carroll reportedly turned them down.

According to a report last week, reports NFL.com, former NFL coach and current NFL Network analyst Steve Mariucci was interested in the job, but Mariucci said that was news to him.

Apparently, Carroll gives Mariucci his full support.

"I still love the Arkansas fight song... But Mooch is the man... Go Razorbacks!" Carroll tweeted Wednesday.
