SEATTLE - Seattle Police are receiving some new clues as they search for the person who shot and killed Officer Tim Brenton.

Wednesday night, a man was arrested in a Ballard bar. It was not immediately known if the case was connected to the shooting.

Among Seattle's police officers, the frustration that there hasn't been a quick arrest is clear. But now there's a new concern.

At least one violent street gang is now hinting at more violence and the target: Seattle Police.

Just blocks from the shooting scene they found gang graffiti – a violent threat against a specific Seattle Police detective.

The gang squad is chasing down those responsible and trying to stop any group from capitalizing on the shooting.

While no one is saying the graffiti is directly related to the murder of Officer Brenton, it is a sign of how tense things are on the streets right now.

The Seattle Times reported that investigators found a note threatening Seattle Police officers at the scene of a firebombing nine days before the shooting and that pipebombs were planted, raising the level of sophistication of the attack.

They could be connected.

Police would not reveal specifics of the evidence found at the Charles Street maintenance yard but did stress if there had been a threat, it would have been passed along to officers.

Meantime police say they believe they have the shooter's car on dash cam video from two or three different squad cars in the area of the shooting on Halloween night.

Today Officer Brenton's family came to the memorial at the crime scene.

Officer Brenton's father Boyd, a retired Seattle policeman, now prepares to bury the son who followed in his footsteps.

Late today the formal honor guard arrived at the spot where Officer Brenton was killed in cold blood.

The reward is now $105,000 for information that leads to the arrest for the murder of Officer Brenton. You can call in tips to 206-233-5000 or Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS.

There will be a special flag-raising ceremony at the Space Needle Thursday morning at 10 a.m. to honor Officer Brenton.

Friday there will be a procession and memorial service. About 1500 vehicles will leave the University of Washington at 9 a.m. and head to Key Arena. The procession is expected to last until noon and no other traffic will be allowed on the route. The memorial starts at 1 p.m. at Key Arena. KING 5 will carry it live.

It's time to take the cuffs off of the police, and let them deal with these idiot gang members once and for all, as in put them in a landfill with a bullet in their heads and bury them where they belong...the dump

Here is what I wonder.... How do we know that this officer want involved in something he shouldn't have been? It appears to be a grudge shooting. Maybe, its an x-girlfreind, a drug partner... who knows? Not to be disrespectful, its just that I have known some officers in the past and have come not to trust them blindly without asking a few questions first.

why is it so hard for the police to relese info that could arrest this suspect/s? are they waiting till the officers memory is forgotten? or are they just running with hatred in their eyes and fail to look past that? they are offering over 100k in reward money but fail to give any info that could get them arrested. I find that appaling. whats the coverup? do you want to just gun them down instead of bringing them to justice? or if your afraid of vigialantism then why offer a huge reward? I bet if someone could see what type of car it is then they could have probably caught the perp, but why so secretive? and officer sweeney never got a look at them before she ducked down?

Now that Obama is president with friend like William Ayers of the Weatherman's Underground the gang-bangers take that has a hunting license; it's the political now that they've been told their entire lives what victim they are in order to keep them as dedicated democrats.

I agree that the cuffs should be taken off against ALL gang activity. I don't care if we have to use the FBI, CIA or National Guard.. they need to be destryoyed. It is ruining society.

Karter - I am SO sorry that you feel it necessary to taint this officers name. I am shocked that you don't understand random violence takes place everyday on officers, even good ones, you just don't hear about it until one actually dies! I do believe that officers hands are tied continually!! Look at the officer in Everett who is being charged with manslaughter for shooting a suspect while he was under the influence and trying to get away! THANK YOU to all the officers who serve and protect every day and night! May Karter's comments not discourage all those are good!

karter it is not your place to question or judge anyone!!!! Let the professionals do their job. I feel vey awful for this Officers family because they had to lose him like this. Police officers are not given the credit for their work. They risk their lives everyday to serve and protect everyone of us and their job goes unthanked by many. To ALL Officers out there: THANK YOU!

To the slain officers family, my prayers. To law enforcement, my thanks for your service to community. truthdector, seriously? I am not a fan of the current President, didn't much like the last one either. How can people like you continue to lay every society failing at the feet of the president?
