Shorecrest FTW. Shorewood may have put more effort into it but still lacked in quality. Shooting it backwards was a clever idea, but it was a poor job overall. Shorecrest may not have been exciting, but was good quality. Привет из Russia!

What a cool idea and GREAT JOB to both schools from a neutral third party in Minnesota. But for now, Shorewood wins, hands down. Also, I hope you all got copyright permission for the songs so the RIAA doesn't come after you and spoil Christmas.

I'm a Shorewood kid and even though I though that Shorecrest's video was really good and it's cheers me up some times, I have to say ours is better. Even though you guys say that we copied you, you guys challenged us to make OUR OWN lip dub, which we did... backwards! So in a way we didn't copy you at all. T-BIRDS FOR THE WIN!

As I posted earlier these should be proud of what they did, but you should remember the original idea for this was done at UQAM (University of Qubec at Montreal) on Sept. 10 2009 by 172 video and communications students using the song "Today's going to be a good night" and it is also on Youtube.

Both videos are outstanding!! I commend both schools. Shorewood is the winner IMO. Now to all of the morons giving a so called "Professional critique" NEWS FLASH.........THESE ARE KIDS!!!! I'm willing to bet most are under 17 years old.They are not professionals but they did IMO very well. I guess with some of us who become old, and cynical we get a severe case of SOS (Stuck on stupid) We forget that we were once in High School, or young, or kids, once. Give them a break they made the news did a GREAT JOB on the production, innovation as well as show tremendous SCHOOL SPIRIT!! Ya know the same thing we did as High Schoolers? Or have we forgotten those years? Or were some of you the High School loser's?

No matter which school you happen to go to, you should be proud of the work that went into the idea. Just shows that no matter how bad the situation the US currently is in economically, there is a bright new generation coming along that has that spark of ingenuity that has always in the past, and will in the future, continue to make America great. You would never see this kind of thing in, say, the middle east , China or India or even Europe for that matter. Be proud and keep your heads high.

seattle2010 by the way youre just telling me not to let the numbers get to my head...im sorry but when you have that many views and votes it hard to not let it get to me, please don't poop on my happiness, it your'e video was the one with all those views and votes you'd let it get to your head too. one more thing...were teenagers, youre wrong most people now adays DO have accounts and access to the internet one way or another.we also used way more student than shorecrest and the fact that our video was filled with loads of things happening in the background only made it that much interesting, that why people kept viewing it over and over! SHOREWOOD!

That was so much fun! The news needs to put more things like this. Enough with the depressing stories - we all know it's getting worse. But friendly competition like this, quite fun! I liked them both best, but I have to vote for the school that did "You make my dreams come true." Quite entertaining!

Parting away from the video, I do find it a little upsetting that there was a lot of negativity attached to all of the comments left about SC's video.. I mean, come on... its high school, and its a video. Don't get me wrong, SC is plenty guilty, but I have just been seeing it more from SW this time.. Regardless, good job SW. With all of that said, I think that both video's were great. Naturally, my vote does go for Shorecrest, primarily for the originality, what it demonstrated and because it wasn't filled with special effects. Last comment: may I remind you, the number of comments and ratings on youtube doesn't necessarily speak the loudest.. not everyone has a youtube account or leaves a comment and rates the videos. Don't let numbers get to your head!

SHOREWOOD: Kudos to you as well! I realize that our school apparently challenged you- teacher to teacher. I watched your video, and the video that was designed promoting the filming. The promotion video... well, I don't really understand the joker thing.. but hey, it caught my attention. Now, for your actual video.. to be honest, I was slightly disappointed. I think it was chopped full of great ideas and it showed your spontaneous side as well! Such as the running boys swim team...! The idea of having things go backwards was cool, but I think it got to the point that it was too much. Some things, like the flags, cheerleaders stunting and the paper was cool, but I feel that the video would have been better if there were select parts that played backwards. The lip-syncing was off, but I’m assuming that doing it backwards is difficult.. I wouldn't know.. I don't do stuff like that on my spare time. I feel that it was full of potential; it was just a little bit too much for me.

Okay, I personally go to Shorecrest, so I'm trying to approach this in an unbiased way. I feel that this little rivalry competition has gone way to far. I work with a lot of people who go to Shorewood, and these videos are all I hear about! So this is my take on it: SHORECREST: Props to us, of course. I think what was coolest about our video was that it started out as a simple class project. We didn't promote it, and most of all, we didn't tear down SW or anyone else in the process of making it. I feel that it really demonstrates our spontaneous, random, spirited, fun, unified, and classy personality. We got the entire school involved without any other intention besides finishing an in-class school project. It had great filming, ideas, and I had fun watching it. It was clean and easy to follow. I think what really grabs my attention was that it didn't require TONS of special effects, and it was original with a catchy, fun song. We had fun filming it, and I feel that it really shows!

I'm a farmer in California with no association to these two schools. I've never been to Washington. Shorewood gives me hope for the future of our country that no speech could ever give. IM NOT AFFILIATED WITH EITHER SCHOOL. So no bias. Anyways, yall must live under a rock if you didn't know Shorecrest stole the idea. Go to youtube and look up 'UQam lipdub'. And there's actually more schools that have done this. But Uqam is the original school. Shorewood just took Shorecrest's very unoriginal challenge and made it into something that's never been done before. So Shorewood gets my vote.

Shorecrest's video was better. There is more school spirit in Shorecrest's video, and it was just one of those videos that makes you happy. It is interesting how Shorewood could have had a variety of approaches to execute this idea for a video... but decided to stick with the same theme... Happy High Schoolers Trotting Around Campus. You may have went bigger, but you didn't do better. The Shorewood's video was very well made, though. But apparently a SW student said they memorized the backwards lyrics in only three days; it really showed on some of the people. Oh, and Shorewood: Don't be jealous Rainn Wilson went to Shorecrest. Oh and Sanjaya, too (although that's questionable!). Hmm, there was also Michelle Akres. LETS GO SCOTS!

I like Shorecrest's video much better. It is fun to watch and the school spirit is nice to see. The outfits in the Shorecrest video are a blast! It makes the video watchable multiple times. Regarding Shorewood, the backwards lipdub was a nice idea but execution was awkward. The lip-synching was too off and distracting. I like the Shorecrest song selection. Overall it is fun to see this kind of rivalry. Both videos are good accomplishments. In my opinion, Shorecrest did a finer job.

Hmmm. In addition, yes, I understand that Shorecrest's video concept had already been done by a College in Qubec, however, I am looking at the originality between the two schools Shorecrest and Shorewood. They are the two schools in competition. Shorecrest accomplished their video in 14 days, Shorewood's video took 6 weeks. The challenge of lip synching backwards is interesting, but it wasn't well practiced and wasn't accomplished. You still can't understand what they are saying. If you could understand what they were saying, and they used the same amount of students and maybe a different idea, I think the competition would have been close. But no, go. Shorecrest clearly shines with originality, individuality, punctuality, detail orientation and school spirit. I have been reading the comments on you tube from the different schools and am disappointed to see that far more of Shorewood students are commenting using lewd and foul language. Represents Shorewood poorly.

Wow. Close competition. Shorecrest had an interesting idea, used a large amount of students which seems like a big logistical challenge, the continuous shot was certainly a video challenge. I particularly liked the individuality and fun surprises throughout the video, like the fellow on top of the lockers in the hallway, the young man in the power ranger suit and the banana in the wheelchair. Those things were unique and fun. Lip sync was on target. I thought Shorewood's idea was taken from Shorecrest, it wasn't very original. Lip sync challenge was interesting, but you still couldn't tell what they were saying and shots of the same people were long and boring. Sorry Shorewood, the idea wasn't original and your twist fell short of my expectations after seeing the Shorecrest video.

The point of Shorecrest's video was the amazing camera work. They did a fabulous job with the video and work that was put in. Shorewood's video looked kind of cool with everything going backwards but the quality was just not there.

Haha, with the teachers it's a peaceful competition, but with us students it's more than competition. The reason why Shorewood's lip-synching was off 'cuz us students needed our education, and we didn't have time to practice again, and again. We're not copying off Shorecrest, they just challenged us. And we came up with a more creative video. We'll just have to wait for their next move. Step it up Shorecrest.

brian520, this was done over the course of a single period of two days of school total. It's not like we're missing out by not attending one lesson. This is far more fun than learning to become desk job corporate workers after college. We should be as happy as we can in our youth. OMG so u people out there who are saying that their lipsynching is off well.....yea its off but so would urs if you had to 1) figure out the whole song backwards 2) had only like 3 days to learn it all backwards and 3) listened to the song backwards while trying to lipsynch it all backwards! so pleasee lay off that matter! The vidieos were one person, one camera, one take. This is why America is failing to compete globally with other countries. We teach kids to lip-synch backwards. Grades and basic knowledge are in the can. People live in a virtual reality where good spelling is bad form. The iPhone will tell you who to love.

Relating to the "autism" story......the "autistic" kids (mentioned in the other story) are the "nerds" and "geeks" who are studying math and science while these fabulous models are dancing. When I was in high school, I could have a crush an a girl like one of these, but not be able to relate because I was intellectually on a different plane. This is good high school fun, but shows what modern social priorities are and doesn't show downsides or consequences. Redmond High School 1984!!! Honor Roll!!! No drinking or drugs!!! shorecrest didn't come up with the lipdub idea on their own, and was not the first. shorewood however created the first ever backwards lipdub and even though people like to say shorewood was a copy cat, it was a competition given by shorecrest in the first place. i vote shorewood.

Shorecrest was not the first one to make a lip dub video and Shorewoods video far exceeds shorecrest's in every aspect. Shorewood is the first school to do a lip dub backwards making it far more original then Shorecrest! although shorecrests vid is made well it is average in the world of school made lip dubs!
