SEATTLE - Friday night the Central District community came together to line the street with Luminarias, and add to a memorial for Justin Ferrari, the man who was shot and killed near MLK Jr. Way and East Cherry Street.

Messeret Habeti was working inside her restaurant when it happened Thursday afternoon. She said two adults and two kids came in to her restaurant. She recognized the children as regular customers.

"The younger one was really crying hard. She was asking for her dad. I could not say anything to her. I was just crying with her," said Habeti.

Ferrari was driving along with his family just after 4:30 Thursday afternoon, when a bullet struck and killed him. Police said a man arguing with people in the area fired the shot, then fled.
