Port Orchard, Wash. - A 32-year-old Port Orchard pastor has been arrested on two counts of suspicion of rape of a child and there is concern that there are more victims, the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office says.

The alleged rapes were reported to have happened in 2002 - 2003 when the victim attended the Manchester Christian Academy in Manchester. The victim was 12 or 13 at the time.

The suspect was the victim's teacher when the alleged acts were committed.

Detectives are concerned that there may be additional young victims who may not have reported inappropriate touching or behavior by the man.

The man was arrested at his Port Orchard residence Wednesday morning and was booked into Kitsap County Jail for two counts of child molestation, 2nd degree. Bail was set initially at $250,000. The man arrested is scheduled to make his first appearance in Kitsap County District Court Thursday at 3 p.m. in Port Orchard.

Anyone with information about other possible victims is asked to contact Detective Chad Birkenfeld at (360) 337-5619. Those who want to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Is god willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him god...

pete35: If there is a god, why didn't he (it) intervene? How could any god allow such an atrocity? There's your proof right there. Not proof of believing in nothing, but believing that the whole god thing is mumbo jumbo.

To 97580-You say there is no God as fact. This is just your opinion and you cant prove that. Actually atheists have an incredible faith of belieiving in nothing, now that is stupid in my opinion.

All you anti-religious bigots are pathetic. This has nothing to do with religion. This just happened to be a pastor who was not following religious teachings. This is considered wrong in any religion. How would you like it if we labeled all atheists as bad because the communists who were athesits killed over 100 million people. So stop blaming and labeling all religious people as bad because of the actions of a few. It is ignorant and stupid.

They were careful not to indicate a gender of the victim. Seems clear that it's a male. You just know this guy has been bounced around within the clergy after repeated complaints of this type of behavior. It seems like all clergy are a bunch of pedophiles. All religion needs to be flushed down a toilet, especially Mormons and Muslims.

Predators always prey on the weak minded and what better place to find those than within organized religion. Aka the opium of the masses....

Hey not that I'm down with Christians, or religion at all. I personally think it's a scam. However, usually it's the Catholics that molest the children. If we are gonna stereotype, lets make sure it the right group. Who wants to bet this guy is Catholic?

@ loshan66... You are correct about LOVE... that sick man love little innocent children, not the same way we love our children.... I hope the church doesn't spend millions of donated money to bail this sicko out of prison.

I have met many wonderful true Christians, there are a lot out there, but the ones that seem to be in the spot light yelling the most are the ones that have missed the most important aspect of being a Christian, and that is to love. It 's amazing if you follow that golden rule and make a practice of making sure that everything you do is filtered with love, you wont be so inclined to hate and hurt others like this pastor and so many others have done. If you declare to others that you are a Christian then your first mandate is to love everyone equally....even your enemies. A person that can practice that, truly is a Christian. You can search the bible throughout and you will not find any passages that allow you to hate others.

reader54, I couldn't agree more! Whenever I see an arithmetic error, I immediately make my case for repudiating all mathematics!

I rented a room in a household from a Methodist pastor. He certainly practiced differently from what he preached and heard he ended up in trouble with the law.

And so many Christians are upset that their under attack. No wonder! The news about Christians involved in child molestation never puts things in a positive light. Add to that the messages of ignorance and hate put forth by some Christians and the image isn't a good one. There are lots of good people who are Christian and do fine work. Unfortunately too many are giving them a bad reputation. It's time to clean up the churches, get rid of the hate and criminals and maybe people will consider Christianity again but for now, who wants to be associated with these people.

I've never held pastors, reverends, priests, etc. on a high pedestal. They are human with human faults like anyone else. It is really sad that they exploit when such a high trust is placed in them.
