Port Orchard, Wash. - A 32-year-old Port Orchard pastor has been arrested on two counts of suspicion of rape of a child and there is concern that there are more victims, the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office says.
The alleged rapes were reported to have happened in 2002 - 2003 when the victim attended the Manchester Christian Academy in Manchester. The victim was 12 or 13 at the time.
The suspect was the victim's teacher when the alleged acts were committed.
Detectives are concerned that there may be additional young victims who may not have reported inappropriate touching or behavior by the man.
The man was arrested at his Port Orchard residence Wednesday morning and was booked into Kitsap County Jail for two counts of child molestation, 2nd degree. Bail was set initially at $250,000. The man arrested is scheduled to make his first appearance in Kitsap County District Court Thursday at 3 p.m. in Port Orchard.
Anyone with information about other possible victims is asked to contact Detective Chad Birkenfeld at (360) 337-5619. Those who want to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
