FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Police have captured a hit and run driver who caused a multiple-vehicle accident Thursday night.
Five cars were involved in the crash on Pacific Highway S. and S. 272nd Street. at around 9:15 p.m.
Six people were injured; fortunately none of the injuries were life-threatening. The injured were taken to area hospitals.
The driver of a black Lincoln Navigator that caused the accident ran away from the scene.
The suspect, whose car ended up overturned, took off on foot eastbound on S. 272nd Street.
Man Dip Sin, who works at a self-service gasoline station at the intersection, saw the accident and tried to stop the suspect.
"He was walking away, so I asked him, I said wait until the cops come. He kept walking toward those apartments," said Dip Sin. "So I started walking behind him, to try and stop him. He started running."
Dip Sin said he was wearing flip-flops and couldn't catch the suspect.
Police called in the Guardian One helicopter to help search for the suspect. Officers found the man, reportedly hiding in some bushes, at about 11:30 p.m.
It's thought that the suspect, who is in his early 20s, may have an extensive history of traffic accidents and infractions.
