Pierce County Transit faces large cuts in service because Proposition 1 failed to pass in the election in November.
Transit officials are holding a series of public meetings to prepare riders for the service cuts.
The first meeting is today, Wednesday, March 6th from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Pierce Transit Center. There are two meetings March 7th at William W Philip Hall at the University of Washington Tacoma, one at 11 a.m. and the second at 6 p.m.
Prop 1, which called for a sales tax increase of three-tenth of a cent, lost by just 704 votes.
In September, bus and shuttle service will be cut 28 percent, affecting the 20,000 daily transit riders.
