Martin Luther King Junior Way in Renton was closed for hours Saturday after a fatal high-speed chase.
The Skyway Fire Dept. says just before 4 a.m., a Kent Police officer saw a car speeding on Interstate 5 and attempted to make a traffic stop. They came into the West Hill area of Skyway
When the suspect rammed a King County Sheriff’s Office patrol car and a Kent Police car, the Sheriff's Office began a pursuit.
The suspect ended up driving off the road, then missed a barrier and hit several trees about 20 feet into a ravine.
The suspect died at the scene.
A King County deputy was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
