FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – One person is dead after an early morning car accident in Federal Way.

The accident occurred just before 2:30 a.m. at Pacific Highway S and S. 320th Street.
Witnesses say the driver of a Chevrolet Suburban ran a red light and T-boned another car. The person inside the car was killed.

“The witnesses are indicating that car was traveling through the intersection on a green light and that the Suburban ran the red light, striking the car,” said Lieutenant John Stieben of the Federal Way Police Department.  “We’ll have to go back and see. There are DOT (Dept. of Transportation) cameras at this intersection, there’s also red light cameras. So, we’ll go back and take a look at those and try to verify what the witnesses are telling us.”

The driver of the Suburban has been arrested for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence. Police say alcohol  may be to blame. The accident is not believed to be weather related.
