PUYALLUP, Wash. - Loved ones of the 41 members of the Stryker Brigade killed in Afghanistan over the past year have a new place to pay their respects.

A memorial featuring the names of all 41 soldiers was dedicated in Puyallup's Pioneer Park Thursday afternoon.

"It's unbelievable," said Marline Tully, whose grandson, Private First Class Brian Bates, was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan last October.

PFC Bates left behind a wife and two children, ages 2 and 3, who barely remember their father.

Their great-grandmother said thanks to the new memorial in Puyallup.

"He lives forever," she said.
