DES MOINES, Wash. – Police investigators raided a motel Wednesday to search for items taken from a home invasion robbery last week.

Seattle police believe gold jewelry and thousands of dollars in guns used for hunting big game, are being stored at the Travel Inn at 26225 Pacific Highway South in Des Moines. It was the last known location of one of the suspects. Another suspect is already in custody.

Police and K-9 units could be seen searching wooded areas adjacent to the motel.

On Aug. 26, just after 3:30 a.m., someone called 911 to report the home invasion in the 7900 block of Fourth Avenue SW.  Police say when the homeowner, a woman in her 60's, answered the door, at least two armed men forced their way in. Another man and his girlfriend who were living in the home were tied up along with the homeowner.

At the time, police said they believed the home may have been targeted.

The robbers took a number of items including handguns and two cars. The cars are a 2005 Toyota Camry with a Washington state disabled license plate 92240DP and a 1995 Ford Windstar van with a Washington state disabled license plate 65327DP.

I wonder if these are the same people that were living at the Studio 6 in Mountlake Terrace that robbed local residents. Studio 6 management were afraid of the folks so their suspicious activity was not reported to the police until it was too late. Darn crooks got away with everything.
