WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah - Family and friends of missing Susan Powell gathered in Utah and Washington to commemorate three months since the 28-year-old mother of two disappeared.
The events were held Saturday evening in Powell's hometown of West Valley City as well as in Puyallup, Wash., where her parents live.
She was last seen at home on Dec. 7. Her husband Josh Powell told police he saw his wife as he left with the couple's young sons for a camping trip in the remote Utah high desert.
He has been called the sole person of interest in the case, but has not been arrested. He did not attend either vigil.
Those who did attend lit candles, sang songs and shared prayers that she might soon be found.
Kiirsi Hellewell says she never expected the search for her friend would have stretched so long.
In Puyallup, Chuck Cox, Powell's father, says he is still "keeping hope alive" that his daughter will be found.
