A standoff at a Centralia home on Saturday ended when police entered the home and found the suspect dead.
Police say at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday officers responded to a residence at 1012 N. Pearl St. on a report of threats and a suicidal subject.
While officers were on scene, a 58-year-old man made threats to a family member to "stab her in the heart."
Police say he emerged from the home with a butcher knife, and was confronted by officers. He then retreated back inside, where he barricaded himself inside his residence and refused to communicate.
After a four-hour standoff and numerous attempts to contact the man, the Centralia Swat Team entered the home and found the man dead.
The cause of death is not yet known. The investigation is ongoing.
