A Lakewood Police K-9 who ran away during yesterday's thunderstorms is home safe, according to a police spokesperson.

Lakewood police say Duke, a narcotics K-9, ran away from his handler’s home around 4:45 p.m. Duke had chewed his way out of his kennel.

The home is located near 208th Street and Mountain Highway in the Spanaway-Graham area.

Duke is a lab retriever mix. He’s about 10 years old and has more than six years of experience with Lakewood police. He is microchipped and is wearing the same collar as that in the attached photo.

If you see Duke, call 911.
