SEATTLE - From all accounts Christopher Monfort was fascinated with law enforcement.

His last known workplace was the Securitas security firm where police say he was fired sometime before Seattle cop cars were torched and officer Timothy Brenton was killed.

New court documents show that officers found an arsenal of weapons stockpiled in Monfort's Tukwila apartment with ammunition and the ingredients to make pipe bombs. Investigators also found a gas mask and a police and fire scanner which could be used to monitor officer activity.

Monfort is charged with the execution style murder of officer Timothy Brenton on Halloween night. Police say the gunman's Datsun 210 had one missing headlight and a bullet hole in the back.

They believe officer Brenton's partner Britt Sweeney fired her gun and hit the car as it fled. Inside Monfort's apartment investigators found an auto "bondo" repair kit which is often used to fix holes in cars.

They also found a replacement halogen headlight for his car.

And what about the link to the destruction of several Seattle police vehicles? The documents show authorities matched a computer printer and paper at Monfort's apartment to threatening notes left at the scene of the arson. They also found a large American flag on Monfort's bed which investigators say matches a flag left at the arson scene.
