STANWOOD, Wash. -- Singing in support of a community still in recovery mode, musicians and entertainers are donating their time to raise money for victims of the Oso landslide.
Saturday marks eight weeks since the tragedy. Organizers were so touched by the stories of the survivors, they put together a benefit in Stanwood, which includes a silent auction, a bake sale and plenty of fun for the kids.
"We really wanted to help Oso and we thought doing something later out would really benefit the people still and show them we haven't gotten on with our lives and forgotten about them," said Carla Helin, organizer.
The Hope for Oso Benefit runs through 10 p.m. Saturday at the Stanwood-Camano Community Fairgrounds.
