A hiker reported missing on Saturday was found dead on Sunday.
Lt. Steve Dittoe of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said the 30-year-old Everett man was hiking with his brother in the foothills east of Index.
The two men were hiking on an undeveloped hiking trail used by fishermen.
The two became separated and when the victim did not show up to the planned meeting point, his brother called 911.
Rescue crews searched Saturday night and Sunday morning and found the victim's body in the Lake Simms area.
Snohomish County sheriff's deputies managed to recover the hiker's body on Monday.
