SEATTLE –- Happy Halloween! Recently, the website “Zillow” voted Seattle one of the best cities to go trick-or-treating in the country.

As families prepare for trick-or-treating, Alison Holm and Megan Thomas with Seattle Local Mom Blog share safety tips and Halloween ideas.

They suggest making sure your child can be seen by drivers with accessories like glow sticks, reflective stickers and flashlights.

These mom bloggers prefer using electric candles instead of candles to light up jack-o-lanterns for safety reasons.

When it comes to trick-or-treating, Holm and Thomas recommend establishing a safe route with your kids and avoiding props like swords. Plus, they say it's also good to choose Halloween bags or buckets that are light weight and the right size for your child.
