Thirty-three people were arrested and 28 guns were seized Monday as the result of a three-month U.S. Department of Justice "Hot Spot" initiative in South King County.
"Operation Down in the Valley" targeted gang violence, drug and gun sales in the Kent, Renton and Tukwila areas.
Many of the busts happened in shopping mall parking lots. One suspect was busted for selling meth in the parking lot outside the SouthCenter Target Store.
"This is a warning to criminals. We are getting guns off the streets," said U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkin.
The drugs seized include 14 pounds of meth, crack, heroin with a street value of just under a $1 million.
