A man told police that he ran his car into a business on Saturday morning after he spilled coffee in his lap and became distracted.
Sumner Police said the 18-year-old man reported that he was driving west on Main Street at about 7 a.m. when he spilled coffee in his lap.
He got distracted and his vehicle then ran into a Verizon store. The wall of the adjoining hair salon was also damaged.
Sumner Police, along with East Pierce Fire and Rescue, responded.
There were no injuries in the crash, but Carmen Palmer with Sumner Police said the Verizon store was a "little worse for wear."
