Thurston County deputies are investigating the death of a 2-year-old child as suspicious.

Medics transported the child to St. Peters Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The child was named as an abuse victim in an earlier complaint to Child Protective Services. The Thurston County Sheriff's Office said that investigation is still open.

A 911 call was received around 1 a.m. Tuesday from the Tanglewild neighborhood near Lacey. The caller said a 2-year-old child was unconscious and that someone was performing CPR.

Sheriff's deputies, the fire department and medics responded to the residence.

Two families live at the house. The six other children from home have been placed in "protective custody" while the Sheriff's Office investigates.

The Coroner's Office still has to determine the cause and manner of death. Sgt. Ray Brady of TCSO said no arrests will be made until after the autopsy.
