The Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office says homicide was the cause of death for a man whose body was found at the scene of a house fire in Graham Wednesday.

The ME's office said Douglas Erhardt, 55, died of sharp force injuries to his head and neck.

A neighbor called 911 Wednesday morning after seeing smoke coming from the home in the 19300 block of 89th Avenue E.

Firefighters put out a small fire, then discovered Erhardt's body inside the home.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department has not said if it has any suspects in the case.
