TULALIP - While many were watching football and preparing Thanksgiving dinner, some shoppers were already hunting for bargains.

"I figured all the Americans would be home eating turkey and all of us Canadians would be here shopping," said shopper Kelly Shaw.

Many stores at the Seattle Premium Outlets in Tulalip opened at 10 am Thursday.

Shaw and other shoppers took advantage of the discounts. Shaw said the lines were much shorter, but the deals were just as good.

Stores like Banana Republic and the Nike Outlet offered shoppers Black Friday deals.

"They were advertising in the Vancouver Sun about this mall opening today so we headed right here," said shopper Irene Robinson.

A mall official said many of their customers drive from Canada. This was the first time the outlet stores opened Thanksgiving morning.
