A semi truck that crashed on Seattle's Ship Canal Bridge Monday caused traffic spillovers across the board all morning.

Just before 7:00 a.m., the crash blocked the left two lanes of northbound I-5 just south of the 45th Street exit. It was cleared by 8:15 a.m.

But traffic continued to move slowly between downtown and Northgate in both the north and southbound directions.

KING 5 traffic reporter Tracy Taylor advised drivers to take Highway 99 as an alternate route.

As a result, the West Seattle Bridge was also congested, as well as Highway 99 through Burien and even I-90.

"Any way you slice it right now, we're going to have delays because of this crash," said Taylor.
