KIRKLAND, Wash. - For the last 3 years Leonid Milkin has been sleeping on an air mattress. His beautiful new house sat nearly empty, until Saturday.
The same kind strangers who helped rebuild Leonid Milkin's house last year came together again to add the finishing touches.
"This is a gentlman who's not only given so much to his country but he had so much taken away as well," says Carl Ramsay.
The pictures on the walls offer a glimps of what Leonid has lost. It was nearly 5 years ago that is wife Olga, her sister and their two sons, Justin and Andrew, were murdered, their home set on fire to cover the crime.
"He needs to move on with his life and to have what everyone wants in their life to be happy," said Ramsay.
Thanks to Greenbaum Home Furnishings, Milkin's house is filled with new furniture and new a new decor.
"What happened in my life is not the end of it," said Milkin as he toured his new home.
In addition to the new furniture, more than a 100 contractors came together to build a new garage, a deck and to add landscaping.
"I also feel that Olga is doing all of this for me as well," said Milkin. "This is a very special place and I feel like she's being somehow part of this."
