KIRKLAND, Wash. - For the last 3 years Leonid Milkin has been sleeping on an air mattress. His beautiful new house sat nearly empty, until Saturday.

The same kind strangers who helped rebuild Leonid Milkin's house last year came together again to add the finishing touches.

"This is a gentlman who's not only given so much to his country but he had so much taken away as well," says Carl Ramsay.

The pictures on the walls offer a glimps of what Leonid has lost. It was nearly 5 years ago that is wife Olga, her sister and their two sons, Justin and Andrew, were murdered, their home set on fire to cover the crime.

"He needs to move on with his life and to have what everyone wants in their life to be happy," said Ramsay.

Thanks to Greenbaum Home Furnishings, Milkin's house is filled with new furniture and new a new decor.

"What happened in my life is not the end of it," said Milkin as he toured his new home.

In addition to the new furniture, more than a 100 contractors came together to build a new garage, a deck and to add landscaping.

"I also feel that Olga is doing all of this for me as well," said Milkin. "This is a very special place and I feel like she's being somehow part of this."

This is the 2nd article I read last night with misspelled words. Words marked with asterisks (*) "This is a *gentlman* who's not only given so much to his country but he had so much taken away as well," says Carl Ramsay. The pictures on the walls offer a *glimps* of what Leonid has lost. It was nearly 5 years ago that *is* wife Olga, her sister and their two sons, Justin and Andrew, were murdered, their home set on fire to cover the crime. "He needs to move on with his life and to have what everyone wants in their life - to be happy," said Ramsay.

This story is so beautiful: the idea of hundreds of people coming together to help this man who has suffered so much yet stays strong and optimistic. I love all the little touches but especially the framed photos of his wife, sister-in-law and children. Bless everyone who worked on this. What a wonderful Memorial Day story.

Are you two for real.? A couple of keyboard cowboys most likely sitting around in your underwear passing judgement (oh yes, you are). While this man was off protecting your right to post inane dribble on a local news blog, he was stripped of everything, home family, his complete life was taken away from him in an instant, through no fault of his or his family. After that horrific event a community of strangers banded together to comfort and assist this man, a lesser man, may have folded at his situation, but he has to this point prevailed. Could you say the same, unlikely, you would have no concept of the depth of this man's pain and your comments about insurance, which, no where does it say there was not any, it simply says a communmity came together for him, are pathetic and shameful. I hope you never have the need for such support.

Insurance is a scam. . . . Insurance would say, it wasnt the fire that destroyed the house, it was the heat. . . .you dont have Heat insurance, Cha-ching.
