VASHON ISLAND, Wash. – The King County Sheriff's Office is looking for two men who broke into a Vashon Island home, tied up the homeowner and repeatedly pistol-whipped him before stealing cash and a computer.
The Sheriff's Office says the incident occurred about 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19. The man was alone and asleep in the 9400 block of SW Gorsuch Road when two masked men burst into his bedroom and used duct tape to tie him up.
The men repeatedly asked him for money and hit him over the head several times with a pistol, threatening to shoot him if he didn't tell them where the money was.
They ransacked the house until they found a small safe in the bedroom closet. They forced the victim to open the safe and then stole the few hundred dollars inside. They also took a laptop computer before leaving.
The homeowner crawled to his toolbox and used a pair of wire cutters to remove the duct tape.
The victim had a surveillance camera, which captured photos of the suspects. Both are said to be in their 20s and both weigh about 200 pounds. One of the suspects is around 5-foot-10 and wore glasses under his mask. The other is about 6-foot-1. The shorter suspect could be Hispanic and the other Caucasian.
Anyone with information is asked to call the King County Sheriff's Office at (206) 296-3311 (24 hours) or 911.
