SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – A body found in the Stillaguamish River has been identified as Colt White, a friend of a Granite Falls woman who has been missing since early June, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

The 23-year-old Granite Falls man was friends with Angela Gilbert. A third party reported that White and Gilbert went for a walk near Granite Falls on June 2 and that White returned alone, saying that Gilbert had decided to continue walking by herself. Gilbert has not been seen or heard from since.

White was reported missing a few days later by a family member.  Detectives never had the opportunity to speak to him about Gilbert.

White's body was recovered from the Stillaguamish River on Sunday. It is unknown how long the body was in the river, but decomposition suggests it was weeks, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives are referring to the case as a death investigation, since cause and manner of death are unknown.

Anyone with information about Colt White's death and/or Angela Gilbert's disappearance is asked to call the Sheriff's Office tip line at 425-388-3845.
