BELLEVUE, Wash. - A 31-year-old Bellevue bride heading home from her bachelorette party was arrested for drunken driving Saturday morning, hours before she was to get married.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Christina Martin says the woman was driving over 90 mph and weaving in and out of traffic on Interstate 405 in Bellevue when she was stopped.

Martin says a trooper arrested the woman, processed her and let her take a cab home in time to make it to her early afternoon wedding in Burien.

Martin says the bride's alcohol level was nearly twice the legal state limit. The woman will face charges in King County District Court.

This story regarding the speeding drunk bride to be really get's my blood boiling. I cannot believe that she was released and allowed tio take a cab home, just so she could get married. She should have thought about that long before she got behind the wheel. The police officer who let her go should be reprimanded if not suspended. Over 90 miles an hour and 2 times the legal limit would have put me or many other people directly behind bars without a nice little cab ride home. With all the people dying because of these thoughtless, selfish individuals who drive drunk. I also think the way you folks tell the story and how it all works out well is kind of tasteless. I enjoy watching king five but after the way everyone just talks like she really did not do anything that wrong and she was happily married, I won't be enjoying it to much longer. She should have been locked up regardless of her getting married that day just like every single other person who is pulled over for drunk driving.

A touching story where NOTHING, not even a DUI or the people she put at risk on the road, can interfere with the sanctity of her marriage!

What do you all expect, she's getting married in, of all places, Burien. Maybe this is just how they prepare for weddings there. She's just trying to get used to the procedure (of getting arrested) for reference on future use. Oh.... I've got a feeling she'll be using what she's learned this time in the future.

Read carefully, people. They didn't just let her go. She was arrested and processed, and THEN took a cab home. I would venture a guess that this is pretty much the standard procedure - no special treatment here. I doubt the trooper would have cared if she was late for her wedding.

If I were her fiance, I would have thought twice about going through with the marriage. Of course, she's probably eight months pregnant.

Sounds like this marriage is off to a interlock nuptial , house arrest honeymoon, and a SR-22 future. Good luck kids

I thought nobody gets special treatment for a criminal offence. She must of blown more than just the breathalizer. Gotta love it

No word on whether she will try the Anne Bremner approach of claiming she was the victim of a hit and run, shockingly coincidental brain trauma to avoid a breath test. Several people could have been killed by either of them. She was not held under arrest why?

Her name would be withheld as charges hadn't been filed yet. I'm sure she'll make a wonderful wife...if she can keep from killing herself on the road

I'm with akrandy! This is ridiculous! Twice the legal limit and she gets to take a cab home? What kind of message is that? Then there's the issue of getting married while your under the influence. That's grounds for annulment.

Her bridesmaids let her down! they should have had either a limo or a designated driver for her. What fool planned that bachelorette party?
