@thirteenburn - actually, they did mention the race of at least one of the assailants, but I'm guessing you didn't read the actual article to find that out. Here you go: "The second suspect got away. He was described as a white man with blonde hair..." Generally if no race is mentioned in the article, you can be assured that both parties are white. No judgment, just a statement of fact.

Even if the coffee co doesnt allow guns on duty some people who have a concealed weapons permit carry them anyway. its a good thing in this case otherwise that tables more than likely would have been turned.

If this were to happen more often we would not need so many cops on the street. This makes life a little safer for our officers. I am not a fan of killing people but if the danger is real criminals will have to think twice about preforming petty crimes. I can't believe that I am saying this but, "good job".

@clear2copy...i was thinking the same thing! there are plenty of male barista's out there. but i think it is safe to say the majority are female. in the 13 years i worked as a barista, i only worked with one man, haha!

So much cheaper than calling the cops first. No money spent searching for the crook, no money preparing the case and conducting the trial. No juror fees. No prison/country club costs. Even cheaper for the business. A gun and a few bullets are much cheaper than a security guard. Gotta use the guard every day. Only need to use the Glock once.

This will become more common place, as budget cuts, furlough days are taken, and not all will be as perfect and clean as this. But I would rather depend on the person in the mirror, than most of our government agencies, telling us, I will take care of you for YOU. They do have their place, just not every where and all the time. I guess the real message here. DON'T STEAL other peoples stuff.

Kinda funny that there are not enough cops to stop the crooks, but it took a matter of minutes to find 18 to respond after shots were fired. It seems like it is not worth killing someone over a few bucks, but when we are cutting police every day, crooks are getting a slap on the wrist, if they even get caught, and the crooks have not mercym it is time for the victims to defend themselves in a way that will deter future wanna be crooks.

This Woman was armed to protect herself. She made a decision to NOT be a victem. Police officers CANNOT protect each one of us 24/7. SO. We need to do what we can to protect ourselves. Get a concealed carry permit, and do so.
