Jailed for cashing Chase check at Chase bank

AUBURN, Wash. - Buying his own home was a big accomplishment for construction worker, Ikenna Njoku, of Auburn. He’s only 28 years old.

“I was really excited. For the first time, I actually got to buy a lawn mower, mow my lawn and everything,” said Njoku.

Njoku qualified for the first time home buyer rebate on his tax return.

"It was really important, I had a vehicle I was looking on paying off," said. Njoku. And it wasn’t just any vehicle. “It was a 2001 Infinity I-30, silver…just like my favorite car, “he said.

Njoku signed up to have the rebate deposited directly into his Chase Bank account. But when the IRS rebate arrived, there was a problem.  Chase had closed Njoku’s account because of overdrawn checks in the past. The bank deducted $600 to cover what he owed them and mailed him a cashier’s check for the difference--$8,463.21.

But when Njoku showed up at the Chase branch near his house intending to cash the check, he was in for a nasty surprise.

The check had Njoku’s name and address on it and was issued by JP Morgan Chase. But the Chase Customer Banker who handles large checks at the Auburn branch was immediately suspicious.

“I was embarrassed,” Njoku said. “She asked me what I did for a living. Asked me where I got the check from, looked me up and down—like ‘you just bought a house in Auburn, really?’ She didn’t believe that,” he said.

The Customer Banker said the check looked fake, so she took it, along with Njoku’s driver license and credit card, and called Bank Support.

After waiting for about 15 minutes, Njoku said he got impatient and told Chase he was leaving to do an important errand. By the time he got back, the bank was closed. Njoku said he called customer service and asked them what he should do. He says they told him to go back to the bank the next day to get his money.

But when Njoku arrived, it wasn’t the money that was waiting for him.

“They just threw me in jail; they called the police and said this guy has a fraudulent check,” Njoku said.

Auburn police arrested him for forgery - a felony crime.

“I was like - you’re making a mistake, you’re making a mistake, don’t take me to jail, I got work tomorrow. I can’t afford to miss work,” he said.

Njoku was taken to jail on June 24, 2010, which was a Thursday. The next day, Chase Special Investigations, realized it was a mistake. The check was legitimate. The Investigator called Auburn Police and left a message with the detective handling the case, but it was her day off. So Njoku stayed in jail for the entire weekend. Finally, on Monday, he was released.

Auburn Police Commander Dave Colglazier said Chase could have done a lot more to let them know they’d locked up an innocent man.

“We do have a main line that comes into our front office,” he said. “There are ways to reach someone 24/7 at a police department.”

For Njoku, going to jail for five days meant a lot more than just losing his freedom. He said the entire time he was “just stressed out…trying to figure out what was going on with my vehicle.  I love my vehicle,” he said.

Njoku’s car had been towed from the bank parking lot and his check seized as evidence.

“I had to wait a couple of weeks,” he said, “and my car got sold, auctioned off."

Njoku says he didn’t have the money to pay the impound fees and fines to get his car back before it was sold.  He said he also lost his job because he didn’t show up for work while he was in jail.

After all of that, Njoku said he never heard a word from Chase.

“They haven’t even sent me a letter or apologized,” he said. “It’s been a year we’ve been trying to contact these guys.”

Finally, A Seattle attorney offered to help. Last week, Felix Luna sent Chase a scathing letter. Read the attorneys' letter to Chase

“It’s one thing to make a mistake,” Luna said. “It’s one thing to make multiple errors of judgment like Chase has made and then, once you realize that your error has caused such harm to somebody else, to just ignore it for a year. I think he deserved better. I think all their customers do.”

Like Njoku, KING 5 had a difficult time getting answers from Chase. A week after first contacting them, they sent a two line e-mail.

"We received the letter and are reviewing the situation.  We'll be reaching out to the customer," wrote Darcy Donoahoe-Wilmot, from Chase Media Relations.

But on Thursday, Chase issued an apology.

Njoku said that even after he got out of jail, he said was confused and upset. "For a month, two months, I was just down and depressed," he said.

He’s still happy he bought his house, but sad that his experience with his own bank was so humiliating.

“They treated me like a criminal,” he said.

I just saw the follow up to this story and must say I'm absolutely disgusted that King5 found it necessary to add the extracurricular statement at the end about Mr. Njoku's latest legal issue. Why was that necessary in reporting the story? Former Fan!!

All I can say is that is Chase Bank for you. I use a small town bank and never treated with anything but respect. IMO Chase should pay for this mistake with more then a half hearted apology, sent only after a attorney sent a letter!

I hope that wrongful arrest record is expunged. And I also agree, the bank teller and the bank needed to be sued and the bank needs to give the customer a new car.

And yes I noticed it said they took the check as evidence, once the charges were dropped, and he was released I would have been in that bank every day asking for that check back, and actually the police should have given it back to him when charges were dropped. I sure as heck would NOT have sat back waiting for them to mail me a new one as my life fell apart. This guy doesnt seem too smart.

Sorry but I gotta say it LOL OK this guy had a check, went to the bank, LEFT the bank to run an "errand" LEAVING THE CHECK AND HIS LIC and CC behind?!?! Who would do that?? LMAO THEN....after he got out of jail they gave him his check, why didnt he pay for the impound of his car with that money? And he lost his job for missing two days work? Sounds like he was on the verge of loosing it anyway. How he bought a house when he owed Chase $600 in bounced checks....is weird all by itself! Dont get me wrong, the guy totally has a lawsuit for the way it was handled once they discovered the error, the police should handle things differently, if a detective is off for a 3 day weekend, their calls should be taken by someone else who is on duty. And Chase just owes the guy big time for not verifying the check BEFORE arresting him, they had the thing over night! I would sue CHASE, the POLICE, AND the chick who started the whole thing!!! (:

Why in the world did we bail the banks out? They are such crooked effers, we should've let them go bankrupt, they'd be much more user friendly if we had........

So did Chase ever do more than apologize to this poor man? At the very least he needs his car and job somehow made whole to him, plus some damages for anguish, humiliation and stress. I am not a sue-happy person, but this kind of institutional bullying seems to require some courtroom justice. Chase seems to think it can continue on at business-as-usual but needs to think again!

The "Know Your Customer" rules are such a farce! Almost all Federal legislation in the past 20 years is meant to subjugate the average American and exonerate the fascist banking cartel and their political puppets. It's all about letting Wachovia/Wells Fargo launder $370 BILLION in drug money while the TSA gets their rocks off checking for diaper bombs and colostomy-bag IEDs.

I have a comment from the side of the teller... She was just doing her job. I was a teller at a small credit union and I lost my job because I did not catch a fraudulent check (it looked incredibly real, believe me). So she was "covering her own behind" so to speak. I don't blame her/him. Chase should have done SOMETHING for this guy though, the situation sucks.

@ Anonymous.....I tried to cash a paycheck drawn from BankAmerica at BankAmerica and was told basically the same thing....that it looked phoney, they would have to call the employer's HR dept to verify that I worked there, demanded my pic ID, SS card, and asked for yet more ID. Then insisted upon taking all five of my fingerprints of my right hand. Apparently going into their precious bank after landscaping all day was a no-no....I should have gone home and changed into a suit and tie apparently to cash the check without offending them. When they okayed it finally and it got back into my hands I walked out telling them that I would cash it elsewhere. As I was leaving the mgr and teller laughed and high-fived each other and said "Got rid of another one!" whatever that meant (but I'm assuming with work shoes and work jeans they assumed I was homeless or something. Gotta wear a Lubiam there. By the way, what do you mean by your phrase "especially a black man?" What's up with that

APOLOGY???? Welcome to the wonderful world of Chase (and BankAmerica is JUST as bad)......I hope his lawyer sues Chase AND the police dept for this, and hope he gets enough to pay the house off and get a new Infiniti. AND DID THEY FIRE THE BLATENTLY INCOMPETENT BANK EMPLOYEE???? Would love to know, but you didn't mention it. You should have included her name as well so ALL customers will know to steer clear of her. It is, after all, a matter of public record who called the police to have him arrested. Guess that leaves her in line for a false arrest suit as well, which hopefully will also be persued.

Everyone has posted some excellent points but we still have to hold the Auburn police Department accountable for arresting an innocent man without proof of a crime being committed. If this was some white guy from Kirkland do you think he would be sitting in jail for that time? I always thought that you were innocent until proven guilty, unless chase says so. Great police work! Did the arresting officer confirm with Chase that the check was forged and ask for proof of the forgery? It would not have taken to much time to find out if the check in question was issued by Chase or not to that individual. I am still perplexed on the legality of the rapid auction of the car. I still wonder who bought the car. Is it someone related to the city of Auburn?

Not the first time Chase pulled this kind of trick. Literally because of THEIR compounded bank errors, Chase falsely reported to credit bureaus that I had defaulted on a $1 overdraft (!). Even though the branch manager detailed the litany of Chase's screwups internally, Chase ignored my letters and phone calls while meanwhile bushwacking my high 700s credit score. Some kind soul that I'd cc'ed in a final frantic blitz of letters evidently forwarded my complaint to the Comptroller of the Treasury, who came down on them like a ton of bricks. Finally, FINALLY, Chase was forced to act. They apologized and corrected my credit report. Now, you teapartiers and republicans who are so anti-consumer, just think about this. WIthout protections to corrrect injustices like this imposed by amoral, arrogant corporate interests, this could happen to you and there wouldn't be a single thing you could do about it.

Thank you for airing this story. This is a sad reminder of how the big banks business model is built on greed. A simple mistake with an even easier fix and they showed no effort to help their customer. I had a experience with Chase that I should have fought more vigorously against it may have helped this man. They took my car with $500 owed on a $5000 balance and then ignored me hoping my car would get to auction before I could find it. In five days Chase had the entire balance to pay the note. It took them two weeks to process and once processed they gave me a number to a impound lot. My car wasn't there. Thanks to those nice people who gave me the number to another lot I found my car. I still endured five more calls to Chase to send the paperwork to release the car. I was hung up on, at least 3 calls went unreturned and finally I was able to get my car back. The lot believed me when I told them that I had paid the balance, and ensured my car didn't end up at auction.

I am concerned here...it seems unreasonable that any person, especially a black male would leave a $8,000.00 check at a bank to 'run out for a few minutes.' Furthermore if you had experience with a bank you would know what time they close. Furthermore, if the bank kept the check overnight they would have made some determine as to it validity, especially if it was a Chase account that the check was drawn from. Furthermore, it seems unreasonable that a bank would tell a cashing customer that a check looked phoney. Normally they will just refuse to cash it or take you to a supervisor. Furthermore, bankers are trained not to excite customers, especially in cases where fraud may be involved and too politely stall the transaction. all they had to say was we can not get apporval on cashing it tonight could you come back tomorrow. It seems that something is missing in this story?

I can believe this story. Also had problems with Chase I closed on a house and deposited a check into my Chase account for $10,338. They told me due to the amount there would be a 5 day wait for it was drawn on a local bank. Not a problem. Arrived a week later after hold was lifted to withdraw $8,000 of the money in the form of a cashier's check payable to my daughter. The teller was taking forever to process my request. She excused herself and went to the back for about 10 minutes. Finally a person of "authority" came out and said they found it suspicious I was withdrawing the money. I told them didn't understand why it was a problem since the hold was lifted. If there was a certain timeline as to when it wouldn't be suspicious, the hold should have been that date. At this point, I told them not only did I want the 8k cashier's check but want my remaining balance in CASH and to close the account! I was about to move all my accounts to Chase. Not anymore! Showed true color

Welcome to "Know Your Customer". The laws are enacted to harass good folks and let the criminal high-level cartel skate free. The same fascist cartel which told US Attorney General Eric Holder to order the ATF to send guns to Mexico via Operation Fast and Furious. This has NOTHING to do with "racism". It's about high-level fascists training their low-level servants (like the de-brained teller) to suspect the average person of committing some imagined offense. Good news: We are ON TO YOU.

The story as reported does not meet the standards of jounalism. Red flags appear all over this story. Flags:(1) a man leaves a bank after waiting 15 mins. without his $8,000 cash, $8,000 check, identification or credit card and comes back after the bank is closed. (2). When he returned to the bank he was arrested and put in jail on Thursday, Chase admits a mistake on Friday and he was released on Monday. (3) Chase allows his car to be towed and seized his legitimate check. (4) He lost a constuction job under these circumstances (one missed day without calling) (5) Chase could not issure a bank check to get his car out of impond even though they had his legitimate money. POOR LOGIC AND A BLATANT DISREGARD FOR REASON.

Shortly after WAMU was taken over by Chase, I took my paycheck in to be deposited into my account like I always do. After filling out the deposit slip, I brought the slip and my check, with my account number written on the back to the teller. After they deposited my check, I began walking away -- looking at the receipt I had been given. My account balance was wrong, so I got back in line to be seen again. When my time came, I showed the teller that my account balance was wrong. Turns out they deposited my check into the wrong account -- even though the deposit slip AND my check had the same account number that it should have been deposited into. Skip ahead two weeks later, and I'm standing there, with my filled out deposit slip and a new paycheck. You can guess what happens next. Correct. Deposited into someone else's account. I went and opened an account at BECU -- moved everything -- and haven't had a problem since. I still get letters from Chase asking me to come back.

I think Chase was way out of line on this one. I understand the initial distrust of a customer who had had an account closed for bad checks, but not bothering to research the check at the time was arrogant and lazy. I hope this banker is demoted, the bank replaces his car, compensates him for his lost pay, and reimburses his attorney's fees. It's the least they can do.

If you read ALL the info, the lawyer's ltr to a Chase CEO, & all the articles you will see how real this is. I believe Mr. Njoku will get a fat chunk of money. Which is just and right. I know a bit of legal stuff. People, if Mr. Njoku went directly to Chase and gave them a copy of all the damages that have been mentioned already... he would be entitled to THREE TIMES the total amount. That's what he'd get on his own without a lawyer. Chase has insurance! But he has a lawyer now. A lawyer will get him MORE! Yea!!! And I totally dig the lawyer's letter. Sickem big boy! Totally agree with the POLICE SCREWED UP thing. Overreact much? Totally agree with all the HATE CHASE comments. Going in next week after I get paid, w/d everything, close the account. Wow, if I had a bank account with Chase, I think I'd close it. I very much dislike all of the frivolous litigation that takes place in this country, but in this guy's case, he deserves a huge amount of recompense. 1) The Chase employee should be reprimanded -and moved to a lower position. 2) Chase should buy the guy a new car. 3) Chase should make sure he gets a new job with better pay. 4) Chase should pay him at least a year's wages. 5) Chase should take steps to be sure this doesn't happen again. Otherwise, I'd recommend that if you have a Chase account, you close it, and let them know why!

Nothing about this country's big banks surprises me anymore. I work for the Social Security Administration, and have to deal with these arrogant clowns regularly. They are staffed by incompetents, and they answer to no one. For the past four months I have been trying to get $10,000.00 back from a Chase bank. Chase never disputed that the money needed to be returned to treasury. On the first call they said they had sent it back. When the check didn't show up after thirty days, I spent an additional 3 to 4 days playing phone tag, at the end of which I was told that the funds were being returned right away. Two weeks later someone from Chase left a message on my voice mail asking for an address to mail the funds back to. I returned the call, gave them the same address I had given each time I'd called before. The check's in the mail - we'll see. In the meantime, Chase has managed to hang on to $10,000.00 in taxpayer money that they have never had any right to.

Big Government and Big Banks are in the process of consolidating the banking industry, which means fewer choices and less competition for us small account holders- individuals and small businesses. I wouldn't do business with one of the very large banks if you paid me. If you don't have to do business with one of the giants or even one of the big regionals, move your account to a community bank. You'll be glad you did.

I had an account with Washington Mutual for over 30 years & there was NEVER any problems. I was treated with respect and there was never any question with how my accounts were handled. From the first month Chase took over Washington Mutual the treatment of the customers changed.... they have all the answers and YOU as the customer is just plain stupid. I had to keep an watchful eye on my loan, finially got tired of their BS, closed and moved to a customer friendly bank with bankers who can preform simple math.

No one seems to care that their mistake almost ruined him. This is one instance where I hope he takes them to the cleaners!!!!!!!!!

Chase Bank is a HORRIBLE bank. I've known this for some time; And this news story reaffirms it. Around the time WaMu was purchased by Chase, I had a WaMu Visa card that was switched over to Chase. Apparently, Chase decided that they would no longer honor these kinds of WaMu Visa cards, and they cancelled them. This would be fine with me--banks can give credit to whomever they wish--except they did not give me notice or a warning before they did this. I had to find out that the card was cancelled when I tried to pay for a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I hadn't had time to make it to an ATM and had no cash on me. It was such an embarrassing moment for the barista telling me that the card was not accepted. Customers were looking at me like I was a beggar. This pales in comparison to wrongfully being sent to jail for 5 days, but it shows just how horrible Chase is. I would never trust my money with such a sketchy bank. I tell everyone who will listen.

This is a terrible case of racial profiling. However, people commenting on this story need to be a little more responsible and understand that racial profiling does not automatically equate to racism. They are two very different things. The teller clearly profiled him, but that does not automatically mean she is in any way a racist. For more on this issue, please read Walter Williams excellent column on the difference between racial profiling and racism.

This is a result of the criminal class running every major institution in the country. Leftist legislatures, Marxist thug-run public unions and mega corporations are all greedy accomplices. The union thugs with badges and guns in this case are no better than any prisoner on death row. They are cut from the same cloth. This is not an innocent mistake. The lawyers passing laws to keep themselves in absolute control and their bureaucratic accomplices, whose sole desire is power, don't make mistakes. It's their desire to beat up on the little guy, create evil regulations and choke law-abiding citizens into submission. Every so-called individual connected to this matter should be sent on the slowest imagineable boat to China.

I worked for a banking corporation as an in-house counsel for a while and I'm not surprised that this happened. I'm not one to bring up racial issues, but the fact that this guy was African (or had an African name) was the reason this happened. Anybody that works in bank fraud can tell you that its the Africans (mostly east Africans) that are responsible for a large portion of bank fraud that goes on. What we have here an actual, bona fide case of racism-- well, really "continent-ism" because if his name was Leroy Brown and not Ikenna Njoku I seriously doubt that this would've happened. Poor guy-- my heart goes out to him, and I hope he hires a killer lawyer and makes the pr*cks at Chase pay through the nose!

A 'sorry' card from Chase isn't enough here anymore ... maybe they should throw the bank manager and teller a few days in jail as a starter to start making things right.

This has a slant all over it. It's hard to believe that he got arrested just for a suspicious check. He probably made a ruckus and caused a disturbance for him to be thrown in as well. As for the tow and impound thing unless it was more than a week he would have been able to get it out when he got out. Having it sold and auctioned off meant he left it for more than a month without trying to find a way to get his car back(regulations prevent impound yards from selling it after a month, and it being a bank the tow company had to be reputable) He could have told his employee he had been sent to jail under false pretense and would make arrangements to get back to work. I'm not buying his sob story. My brother had been in a similar situation. Yes it's unfortunate his tale, but not even trying to make an effort, at least getting a friend or family member or even an attorney to do things for his predicament is really sad. Kudos for him living the American dream but have some logic.

The story does not hold water. His car and the check were both impounded as evidence. They do not sell evidence. They return it. You don't get charged if it turns out the charges are bogus. Even if he did get charged, tge check woukd have been released to him on Monday, well short of the holding period before functioning the car.

I have found Chase to be real scumbags, especially the Ballard branch manager a few years ago. My elderly mother, who suffered from Alzheimer’s (was visibly infirmed) had credit cards opened in her name at the request of this manager in order to generate better numbers for is branch. Fortunately, I was able to cancel the cards but when I confronted the manager his reply was that she “might need the card in case she decides to travel”. This was a woman who could barely walk ½ block before getting lost. This was an example of how this greasy, sleazy group of suits does business. Shame on Chase.

As much as I distrust lawyers, I hope that this gentleman gets just compensation for what he had to endure. I also think that the local TV stations ought to start an on-air campaign, explaining the situation and Chase's poor handling of the situation. Each night, on the local news segment, Chase Bank should be exposed and criticized until the executives responsible for this are disciplined, and until the "victim" receives compensation for his time in jail and for losing his car. The greatest protection that the public has against abuses like this, is to expose them, when they do happen, to the light of day. Large corporations hate poor publicity, and when the actions of their employees bring public dislike towards the company, the company will take measures to prevent similar events from happening in the future. Transfer the branch manager and the woman who started the problem to some tiny town out in the boondocks.

It's good to hear that Chase is (finally) aware and (hopefully) acting. A lot of policies were broken here, although, in faint defense, Mr. Njoko's departure from the bank before receiving his money likely set these events in motion (although there is still no viable excuse for the actions). Can't wait to see Chase's response...sounds like they need to step up and step up big.

Derek79757274292, his house is bank owned because HE HAS A MORTGAGE. Everybody's house is bank owned until they finish making all of their payments. Nowhere in the story is it implied that he stopped making payments. As for the IRS refund, he received a first-time-home-buyer's refund, which if you knew anything at all, was an $8,000 refund. The program was ended last year. So...nothing shady going on there, even though you desperately want there to be. You know what? Why don't you just read the story. Not exactly. Lets say you're an engineer and you have a 50k$ a year job, and you're in the National Guard. You get deployed, Your 50k$ a year job isnt going to pay you, and the National Guard may only pay you something like 35k$ a year. So you see where the deficit comes in? That being said I agree legally it isnt the banks problem. Maybe there should be a law enacted that would allow deployed reservists to defer mortgages, But there isnt. So the bank expects its money.

Had I been the bank employee I would have been suspicious too and been made more susicious after he left the bank without getting his check cashed. What happened next with him being jailed should not have happened and that's the fault of Chase HQ, not the bank employee, and they need to make things right with this man.

Trying to talk with someone to get their errors corrected was impossible. Nobody at Chase takes responsibility for anything. Finally after several months I said forget it and refinanced with another large bank, one of their competitors. The refinance was quick and smooth, and all the data the competitor collected from me was correct. Chase should pay you $200,000. Did they ever even give him the money from the check they seized? Lost a payed for car. Crazy.

I dumped Chase bank last year after being with Wamu for many years. Got sick and tired of their fees and attitudes. Totally agree with previous comments on the customer service. They must have brought that with them from New York.

I had to go to Chase bank for my sister after she broke her hip in Dec. '10, needing to get her some cash for her stay in rehab.. for physical therapy, I went in with her ID's, bank statement, debit card and all of my ID's and bank statements showing we shared the same home/address. They were the rudest people I have ever dealt with, rude, incompetent, arrogant and impolite. My sister closed out her account on her way home from rehab., Before getting Home !! Remembering we bailed out these "orifices" with our tax $$$, I hope this attorney sues the living "@#%&" out of these "%$#@$%&%" and they loose their banking certificate to do business. ( keep in mind these CEO's are posting the largest bonuses only a year after the "bail-outs").

Banks... One of the biggest rip-offs on this planet.. I would sue the bank, and everyone personally who was involved...

I got rid of Chase when they took over WAMU also. I have never seen a greedy bunch of crooks who are employed at Chase. Chase sucks. Poor customer service and so forth. Sue the pants off them and then some. Kudos for the attorny who came forward to help this poor guy.

Chase has always had the WORST and I mean WORST customer service of any business I have ever seen. I do not know how this bank has managed to stay in business. You guy's should be ashamed of yourself. Ikenna - I hope you sue and get a big fat settlement from them when you are done with this. I have been trying to decide if I want to keep my mortgage with these criminals. After reading this story I will be finding a new mortgage lender when I refinance!!!!

Fire the employee, Close the bank and take away their license to operate. State auditors should review the banks policy's and make them pay restitution on top of that. Yet another reason to leave chase.

Holy cats, who edits this stuff? I studied journalism, graduated with a degree in journalism some 20 years ago, and this story looks like it was written by a chronic alcoholic. Wow. Get an editor. Get some writers. Interesting story, but can we write them in English rather than in Random?

Send chase to the cleaners. I would own that bank branch after i was done. the person who called the police need to be charged with filing a false police report. dont take any thing from the bank that they offer you, take them to court and live great for the rest of your life, and then they will think twice about it. i hope to follow this case.

It's good that Ikenna Njoku has an attorney. Hopefully that attorney has the legal talent to sink his fangs into Chase, so that they will know they are in big trouble. The attorney should tell Chase that in order to settle the case, they need to do several things: Send by registered mail a letter of apology to Njoku signed by the president of Chase Bank, buy him a brand new version of the car that he lost, pay punitive damages to the tune of perhaps $250K to compensate him for the five days he spent in jail, the humiliation he endured and the job he lost. The president of Chase should write to Njoku's former employer affirming that it was Chase's fault that he lost his job and asking them to reinstate Njoku and offering to pay his salary and benefits for at least a year, in addition to the above damages. The terms of the settlement should be made public. This will let people know of Chase's behavior and that they did the right thing to make amends.

Wow... I hope he is able to get reimbursed for his car and his income from his lost job. An apology would be nice for him too. I really hope that Chase is held accountable, that is just so wrong for them to be able to get away with that...

They should have arrested and jailed the failed leaders of WAMU who ruined the lives of many depositors and stockholders and "stole" millions from all of us. Boycott Chase!!!!

Njoku is going to sue the s**t out of Chase, I hope he gets a lot. All the bank employees involved should start looking for new work.
