Well, this is a statistic that we don’t want to hear: Washington Ranks 14th on the USDA’s list of hungriest states. Sadly, we’re the 6th fastest growing state in terms of severe hunger. With unemployment still at a high, and many rainy day funds depleted, people are now seeking help from hunger response organizations for the very first time. This Saturday, KING 5 will team up with US Bank and Safeway to be part of the 12th annual Home Team Harvest drive to try and raise 3 million meals. Ken Kirkpatrick, President of US Bank in Washington State, Steve Frisby, President of the Northwest Division for Safeway, and Shelley Rotondo, Executive Director of Northwest Harvest, joined us today to give more details!
