3 million Americans suffer from type I diabetes. This autoimmune disease can have devastating complications, including eye, kidney, liver and heart problems. But there is new hope through careful diabetes management and a groundbreaking clinical trial of an artificial pancreas at Seattle’s Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason. Research participant, Annie Shultz, and the nurse practitioner who monitors testing at BRI’s Diabetes Clinical Research Program, Dana VanBuecken, join New Day to share their experiences.

Have fun and support BRI’s efforts by attending the Boeing Classic, today, August 19th, through the 25th at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. All proceeds from the region’s premier golf event benefit BRI.
