This year marks the 40th anniversary of Title IX, a law that paved the way for women in sports, and female athletes certainly made a statement at this year's Olympics.

For the first time, Team USA included more more women than men, and by the end of the games it was the ladies who brought home more medals - including gold - than their male counterparts!

Bellevue's Libby Ludlow was a member of the US ski team during the 2006 Olympics in Tofino and was ranked number ten in the world in super-g. Last year, she and her good friend, NCAA all-american skiier Jilyne Higgins started a program called Z-Girls to help encourage and inspire the next generation of young female athletes.

There's a Z-Girls day camp for girls aged 11 to14 that's open for all sports, happening this Friday from 9 am to 5 pm at Robinswood Park in Bellevue.
