The National Film Festival for Talented Youth, called NFFTY, is a non-profit based here in Seattle, supporting filmmakers age 22 and under. It was co-founded by Seattlite Jesse Harris who, at the age of 17, made his first feature film called Living Life. He wrote, directed, and financed it, and eventually landed a multi-city distribution deal. Jesse wanted to see other kids with similar aspirations have a chance to realize their dreams.
The festival accepts short and feature length films in various categories. The film makers have been as young as seven, representing a cross section of ethnicities, geography, and backgrounds.
Jesse joins New Day to discuss the upcoming film festival NFFTY.
