Since 2010, a fantastic retreat in the heart of Woodinville called Willows Lodge has hosted a charitable competition for winemakers. They compete for the title of "Iron Vintner" and raise money for the Little Bit Theraputic Riding Center. In this year's fifth and final contest, the past four winners are in an all-star battle to be named the "Ultimate Iron Vintner."
Executive Chef of Barking Frog at Willows Lodge and emcee of the Iron Vintner, Chef Bobby Moore joined host Margaret Larson on the show today to tell us more about the competition and whip up a delicious Spring Halibut Ceviche. Then, former Mariner All-Star first basemen John Olerud joined to talk about his role as judge for the competition.
Challenge finalists Darby English of Darby Wineries and Morgan Lee of Covington Cellers will square-off on Wednesday, June 18th at Willows Lodge to battle for the title of "Ultimate Iron Vintner." Then, Chef Bobby and his team are throwing an after party the following week, including a live auction for Little Bit. All of the past and present competitors will be there, along with amazing wine and food catered by the restaurant's new food truck Barking Frog Mobile Kitchen.
