Rebecca Cameron from Bonney Lake and Sandra Gray from Seattle will represent Washington State at the Third Annual Foster Farms Fresh Chicken Cooking Contest. They beat out dozens of others vying at a regional competition Friday at Kathy Casey Food Studios. The three judges: celebrity chef Kathy Casey, food blogger Cynthia Nims (Mon Appetit) and Jamie Peha, host of “Table Talk” on KKNW 1150AM selected Rebecca’s Tea Rubbed Chicken with Apple Spinach Salad and Spicy Nuts, and Sandra’s Cherry and Goat cheese Stuffed Chicken with Merlot Scented Lentils.
Rebecca joined Margaret to prepare her recipe, while Sandra showcased her dish and talked about her experience. The two women will travel to Napa Valley in late September to compete against finalists from Oregon and California for a chance at a $10,000 grand prize and a year’s supply of Foster Farms chicken.
