A compelling new documentary opens today that's both inspiring and filled with hope. The Revolutionary Optimists tells the story of a former lawyer named Amlan Ganguly who helps four children from India's poorest slums rise above their challenges to become leaders in their communities. It's the story of defying the odds and changing the world for the better. Filmmakers Nicole Newnham and Maren Grainger-Monsen, both from Seattle, join us with Amlan Ganguly, the man who empowered children to make change, and two of the children from the movie, Salim and Sikha.
The Revolutionary Optimists is playing at SIFF Cinema through April 4. Click HERE for tickets and more info.
The film will also air nationally on PBS' Independent Lens on June 17. For updates and more info, click HERE.
