All this week, leading up to World Humanitarian Day on Friday, we've been introducing you to local people and organizations doing great things to care for the community. We know everyone is busy and it's hard to commit to long-term volunteer work. A terrific organization called One Brick makes it easy to find volunteer opportunities that fit both our interests and our schedules by offering one-time projects that need help.
One Brick is holding their first fundraiser on September 29 at 7 p.m. at Buckley's in Belltown. You can RSVP to attend the event starting on August 29. Click here for more information.
Volunteers from all nine One Brick chapters across the country are invited to join together for a "Help Rebuild New Orleans" project from October 1-9. Cost is airfare plus $200 to cover shared housing and select meals. To sign up for a space or for more details, click here.
