Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is known for their groundbreaking work in fighting and finding a cure for cancer. But they also have one of the most promising research plans in the world to cure those already affected with HIV. Their work is inspired by Timothy Ray Brown, a Seattle native and who is known as "The Berlin Patient". He is also the very first person ever cured of HIV! To share this incredible story with us is Timothy and Dr. Keith Jerome with the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at Fred Hutch.
You are invited to join Timothy, Dr. Jerome and several members of the Fred Hutchinson Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division for a panel of discussion. They'll be talking about their quest to cure HIV with cell-based therapies. The event is from 6 to 9 PM at Seattle University, and it's free to attend and open to the public.
