Cancer touches far too many people, but a new event is happening this weekend to try and help put an end to it for good. Obliteride is a new bike ride to raise money towards accelerating the groundbreaking research being done at Fred Hutch every day. Amy Lavin, Obliteride's Executive Director, and Jeff Berkman, who is riding in his first organized ride since being diagnosed with Leukemia, talk about this unique new community effort..

The inaugural Obliteride bike ride kicks off this Friday (Aug. 9) with a party at Gas Works Park, featuring a concert headlined by Michael Franti & Spearhead.  There are many ways to participate even if you don't ride (they need volunteers, too!).  Visit www.obliteride.org for more details and info.
