No matter how old you are or where you grew up, you've no doubt heard tales of superheroes saving the world. But for more than a year a group of real-life citizen superheroes led by Phoenix Jones have banded together to patrol and protect the streets of Seattle, with the mission of keeping neighborhoods safe.
Seattle pop-punk band Quickie even wrote a song as a tribute to the Emerald City superhero called "Phoenix Jones". A portion from sales of the song and comic will be donated to The Purple Reign Campaign, founded to raise awareness and funds for victims of domestic violence. Click here for the song and here for the comic download.
The Healing Reign Music Benefit & Auction, with special guest bands Quickie and Ghost Town Riot, takes place on May 12 at 7pm at Nectar Lounge in Fremont. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Northwest Family Life. Click here for more details and ticket info.
