Earlier this week, the Microsoft Alumni Foundation held its annual celebration, spotlighting former workers who are making a tremendous difference in the world. The event gathered incredible philanthropists, including actress Jennifer Garner and Mark Shriver, the Senior Vice President of U.S. programs for “Save the Children.”
If his name sounds familiar, it should. His mother is Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Founder of “Special Olympics.” His father is Sergeant Shriver, Founder of the “Peace Corps,” “Job Corps,” “Head Start” and other programs, as well as the subject of Mark’s new book, titled, A Good Man, Rediscovering My Father, Sargent Shriver.
Mark was a key speaker at the Microsoft Alumni Foundation's celebration, along with former executive Charlotte Guyman, who helped create the travel site “Expedia,” managing the business unit that became “X-box,” and much more. She now serves on “Save the Children’s” board of trustees. We were honored to have them both here with us!
