Grammy award winning rock star, actor and author of a best-selling memoir, Rick Springfield, is now turning his hand toward fiction. Rick has garnered praise and legions of fans for his music, which includes a string of hits in the 70s and 80s. Among those hits was "Jessie's Girl", which won a Grammy award in 1982. Although he has been acting since he first arrived in the US, his popularity skyrocketed when he joined the cast of "General Hospital" as Dr. Noah Drake. Rick opened his heart in his frank memoir, "Late Late at Night," in which he shared his lifelong struggle with depression and other issues, and talked about how writing became a sort of therapy for him. Now, he's turned his talents toward fiction, and the result is his debut novel, "Magnificent Vibration," a mind-blowing journey of self-discovery.

Rick joined Margaret to chat about the novel, his writing process, and much, much more.

Rick has a book signing event tonight (Wednesday, May 14th) at 7pm at the University Bookstore in the U-District. The event is free, but you need to get a "signing ticket" in advance in order to stand in the signing line. Click HERE for more information. Then, on July 31st, Rick and his band will perform at the Tulalip Amphitheatre, along with Pat Benatar. Click HERE for details and tickets.
