We’ve learned a lot over the past three weeks about a tremendous program called “Reach out and Read Washington State” and the work they do to help young families learn the importance of reading to children from birth. The program teams up with pediatricians and other health care providers to get books into the hands of children, and ignites a passion for reading and learning.
Today, we focused on families where English is not their primary language. We welcomed back Jill Sells, MD, executive director of “Reach out and Read Washington,” and Diana Lindner, MD, pediatrician at “Eastgate Public Health Center,” and leader of “Reach out and Read Leyendo Juntos Initiative.
