The US men's Olympic hockey team crushed the Slovakian team 7-1 this morning in preliminary competition in Sochi. St. Louis Blues star forward TJ Oshie assisted on 2 of the 7 US goals and was named "player of the game" by Head Coach Dan Bylsma.
TJ's dad Timothy "Coach" Oshie joined Margaret to share TJ's incredible career, which began as a tyke on teams with the Seattle Junior Hockey Association. They also talked about his stellar high school career at the hockey powerhouse, Warroad High School in Minnesota (named "Hockeytown USA), star college turn at the University of North Dakota, and his current role as a star forward for the St. Louis Blues NHL team.
The New York Times wrote an insightful story about the rich history of Warroad High School's hockey program. To read it, please click here.
