Diabetes affects more than 20 million Americans each day. It's a debilitating disease where the body doesn't produce or use insulin properly, and can lead to more serious complications down the road. Ongoing research is finding new therapies for patients and helping doctors better understand the disease.
Ongoing clinical trials are the key to understanding and finding cures for diseases like diabetes. Starting on Monday, Aug. 23, through Aug. 29, the Boeing Classic golf tournament comes to TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. Proceeds from this PGA event will go to Benaroya Research Institute to help study causes and cures to eliminate a range of auto-immune diseases.
