This coming weekend, the Huskies take on the Oregon Ducks and two former UW athletes take on a special cause. Former Husky and NFL tight end Cam Cleeland and his wife, former UW softball and basketball player Mindy (Williams) Cleeland will join a host of Huskies and area firefighters, collecting donations for a cause close to their hearts.
They've launced the Play2Heal Project, to build a larger playroom for young burn patients at the UW Medicine Burn Center at Harborview - a place that treated their then-3 year old son Treynor last year. Cam, Mindy, Treynor and Dr. Nicole Gibran, Director of the UW Medicine Burn Center at Harborview joined Meeghan to talk about the project and their visions for the playroom.
Cam, Mindy, Dr. Gibran and a host of Huskies and area firefighters will collect donations before Saturday's football game between the Huskies and Oregon Ducks. You can find them at a number of places around Husky Stadium starting at 5:30.
