Former NBA player Detlef Schrempf is considered one of the best basketball players in Huskies basketball history before moving on to become part of the Sonics' Dream Team in the 90s. In 1996 he started the Seattle-based Detlef Schrempf Foundation which helps raise money for numerous local charities. Now the organization gets ready to take over a favorite local fundraising event - the annual St. Patrick's Day Dash - which will help raise money for Seattle Children's Autism Center and the Camp Fire USA Puget Sound Council.
